ON A SMALLER SCALE

While large-scale flooring tends to work very well in larger rooms, smaller rooms may feel more proportionate to narrower plank widths. It's always a good idea to borrow or buy several samples of the flooring you are considering and lay them in place to gauge the effect. Remember, too, that lengthwise patterns add depth to rooms, while running the flooring across the width of a room will make the space look shorter and wider.
